The plan is, every day I will try to post (at least) one thing that makes me happy. Hopefully they make you happy too

:)

Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy

Also known as Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, consists (so far) of two of my favourite movies, “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz”. When these three get together, it’s magic. The third movie is reportedly being called “The World’s End”, which makes me hope there are more zombies involved… however, since that has already been done, I highly doubt it. Some say it might be sci-fi based, but it’s all just speculation right now. In any case, I am thankful for these movies and more than excited for the third… so Pegg, Wright, and Frost? HURRY UP PLZ.

One thing that is known is that the first movie featured a red strawberry Cornetto, the second a blue Classico flavour, and the next movie is supposed to feature mint chocolate chip. In preparation, I think I shall consume some for myself.

A poem

My mom wrote this poem in 1981, and gave it to me today. I had no idea she ever wrote poetry, and even though this poem makes me sad, it also makes me happy in a way. Kind of a “better to have loved and lost than never loved at all” kind of thing. So, here goes.

“Heartbroken”

Longing for release
From this emptiness within,
I see your face and then again
It’s all so very dim.
Memories are constant.
Reality’s all a dream.
And love can hold no promises,
Or so it sometimes seems.
But you and I had something
I never could forget,
And even with this loneliness
There should be no regret.

We need to make books cool again. If you go home with somebody and they don’t have books, don’t fuck them.

R.I.P.D

It’s not coming out until 2013 (bah!), but, the movie (based on the comic above) has Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges and is about a recently dead cop joining a group of undead law enforcers as he tries to find out who killed him. I am pretty stoked for this.

Mmm.. waffles.

Perfume that smells like one of my favourite breakfasts?! Oh my.

*I should note that Demeter has almost every scent you can think you might want, and even some you don’t… like dirt, lobster, clean windows (what?), etc..

Probably the most adorable thing I have ever seen in my life.

Departures

“Departures” is by far one of my favourite television shows. It follows three Canadian boys as they journey around the world. I love to travel, and watching this show just fills me with an insatiable need to see the world.

One of my favourite moments: Justin cheers-ing a crab on Ascension Island.

Babies laughing is so contagious. Particularly when they are laughing at ridiculous things.
